Are you sure that gconf is installed by default now? Because I’m sure, that it wasn’t.

BTW, I like your idea of minimalism. Actually you could even use different desktop environment such as: Fluxbox or Wmii. Wmii is pretty interesting anyway and is really worth to at least look at it.

hi, im am really new to this, and everything worked perfectly until i got to this step: Time to connect with your device. Run following commands ( past to terminal and hit enter):
ssh root@theipaddresfromyouriphone (example: ssh root@192.168.2.2)

i have no idea where i am supposed to type this (i get WHAT i am supposed to type, just not where)

i have tried on both my computer and my ipod touch’s terminal app, and it keeps saying either command not recognized or it does noting.
