This month is a little brighter on my desk (as contrast to the weather). I also tried NerdTool but finally I am back on GeekTool.

GeekTool 3- make your desktop look more ‘geeky’!

Would you like to know what is happening to your computer in real time? More advanced users probably would want that. GeekTool is a great mini app for advanced monitoring… and a lot more.

Because of its BSD roots, in Mac OS X you can use Unix terminal commands. Many people (including me) love one tiny app from Apple- Terminal.app. It is located in /Applications/Utilities and it is a fully-capable Terminal Emulator. It is usually used only by ‘geeks’, who are Linux-swithers. We have a very strong habit to do almost everything in console/terminal…

GeekTool enables having unix commands output/scripts/files on your wallpaper or on the top of all opened windows.

iPhone/iPod Touch: Change SliderText on 3.0 using WIFI and SSH (Mac OS X/Linux)

Getting used to ‘Slide to Unlock‘ ? No problem. There is an easy way to change it using SSH.

Important:
In order to change your slider text you must have: WIFI, jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch and Winterboard installed on it.

Exemplary LockScreen with custom BatteryLoadingScreenText:

If you freak out because you saw SSH, just stop. That’s a very easy way to edit/download/upload things to your iPod or iPhone.
